Alex Wilson is a pianist, keyboardist, and composer based in London, performing and recording across a range of genres. In demand as a highly versatile and sensitive musician, Alex actively performs with a wide array of artists including singer SAHRA, guitarist Karim Saber, electronic group Zeñel, alt-rock band Famous, singer Club Kuru, and with various other projects as a freelance musician. Alex performs regularly at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, The Jazz Café and other renowned jazz venues in London. He has played at a number of UK festivals including Love Supreme Festival, Latitude Festival, We Out Here Festival, and the London Jazz Festival. His performances in Europe include Les Nuits Botaniques (Belgium), Left of the Dial (Rotterdam), Jazzkaar Festival Estonia, La Petite Halle Paris, Festival de la Cité Lausanne, and Gdansk Jazz Festival. ​
 
Since meeting award-winning choreographer Mthuthuzeli November in 2022, Alex has written several works for the stage and contributed recorded and composed material for production soundtracks. Notable pieces include his orchestral score for 'For What It's Worth' (Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet, February 2024), 'Water Me' for string quartet and percussion (Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, April 2024), recorded piano for 'NINA: By Whatever Means' (Barbican Theatre, Linbury Theatre ROH, Ballet Black), and soundtracks for 'The Waiting Game' (Barbican Theatre, May 2024), and 'Fools' (Northern Ballet, September 2024). In March 2025, Ballett am Rhein (Düsseldorf) will premiere a new work INVOCATION with Alex's orchestral score.​
 
Alex graduated with a First in Music from Oxford University in 2019 and went on ​to study a Performance MA at the Royal Academy of Music from 2020-22. While at the Academy he was awarded the Scott Philbrick Jazz Prize for outstanding postgraduate performance, Universal Music UK Sound Foundation sponsorship and the Countess of Munster Postgraduate Award.
